This unknown U boat sank during Operation Deadlight 1945/46.

Surveying Details

1946. The submarine's position is given as 55 25 00N, 006 19 10W.

Report from Operation Deadlight.

5 July 1957. The vessel was not found during sonar sweep.

Report by HMS COOK, 1956.

10 June 1968. No sonar contacts were found in the area of 55 25 00N, 006 19 10W but there is a possible wreck at 118 metres at 55 25 48N, 006 19 48W or decca red h.22.2 purple g.70.5. This may be the u-boat from the former position given.

Report by HMS MERMAID, 20 May 1968.

Note: this last acccepted as U boat.

Hydrographic Office 1995.
