This structure, probably the remains of a building, is situated immediately outside the present 'vallum' on the SE side of the site, its SW end overlain by a low grass-grown bank that separates two areas of rig-and-furrow. The structure seems to sit within an old quarry and appears now as little more than a shallow subrectangular hollow measuring 6m from NE to SW by 4m transversely within a wall reduced to little more than a low spread of stones.

The quarry measures some 13m from NE to SW by 9m transversely and has been dug into the SW-facing slope to a depth of at least 2.5m. It gives every appearance of running under the reconstructed 'vallum' on the NW, but the ground on the other side of the wall has been disturbed by its builders and the exact relationship between the two is not clear.
