Beside Duart Castle is a burial ground with the graves of English officers who died there while the castle was occupied by the Englash (after 1745).

The burial ground is depicted on the 1st edition of the OS 6-inch map (Argyllshire, Island of Mull 1880, sheet xcvii), as a rectangular enclosure and annotated as 'Old Burial Ground'.
