A village, comprising twelve roofed buildings, one of which is a Church (see NT13SW 21), one a manse (see NT13SW 43), a school and a smithy, two unroofed buildings and five unroofed structures is depicted on the 1st edition of the OS 6-inch maps (Peeblesshire 1859, sheet xvi). Thirteen roofed buildings are shown on the current edition of the OS 1:10000 map (1987).
