Scope and Content View of Professor's Studio (Studio 53), Glasgow School of Art, No 167 Renfrew Street, Glasgow This photograph of a Professor's studio in the Glasgow School of Art was taken in 1910 by Harry Bedford Lemere. The studio, on the top floor of the building, is still set aside for use by senior staff from the Department of Drawing and Painting. The studio, recorded here by Lemere in its original layout of paintings and furniture, was one of five studios on the second floor designed for the use of staff of the School, and is one of three Professors' studios complete with its original fireplace. In 1910, the photographer, Harry Bedford Lemere (1864-1944), recorded a series of black and white photographs of the School interiors, providing a unique record of the original arrangement of the rooms, and the striking architecture of the building.
