Scope and Content Main hall, town hall, west range Pittenweem Priory, Pittenweem, Fife Pittenweem Priory was founded in the 13th century when Augustinian priors moved to the site from the Isle of May. The surviving buildings, probably dating from the 15th century, have been substantially altered and restored since the Middle Ages. This is the main hall of the town hall which replaced the south end of the priory's west range in 1821. It contains original moulded plasterwork and heraldic wall paintings.
