Scope and Content Interior of byre at Boloquoy, Sanday, Orkney Boloquoy is a working farm, and well-maintained. The farm possesses the last working fixed barn threshing machine on Orkney as well as a turf-roofed barn. This view shows the wooden calf stalls inside a byre at Boloquoy. The Scottish Farm Buildings Survey, a partnership between the Royal Commission and National Museums of Scotland, seeks to compile records of those farm buildings of historic interest. Field survey, backed up by documentary research, began in 1993. Source: RCAHMS contribution to SCRAN.
