Gorget Tree: A very large ash tree on the north side of the entrance to Applegarth churchyard. A short time ago, a large limb of the tree was blown down, taking with it part of the trunk, deeply embedded in which was found the iron gorgets or collar for the punishment of criminals; now in private possession.
