What may be a type 22 pillbox has been identified from vertical air photographs (106G/UK 1314, 5008-5009, flown 27 March 1946), on the E side of Catherinefield Road, at the junction of the extension to Herries Avenue.
The structure is shown on the current OS 1:2500 scale digital map and is visible on air photographs taken in 1988 (All Scotland Survey [Jasair], 22 88 244-245, flown 10 June 1988).
