This is a two-storeyed rectangular-plan signal box, built entirely from red brick, with concrete window cills and lintels, and a flat concrete roof. Access to the glazed upper floor within which the signalling gear is located is by an external stair (also brick-built, with concrete treads). The signal box was operational in 1997, but there were plans being considered by Railtrack to automate signalling and close this and other signal boxes on the line.

Visited by RCAHMS (MKO), 29 October 1997.
