NX85SE 6.01 86213 54083

Colvend Church was erected in 1771. The old church was taken down in that year, and of it no trace remains.

Before the Reformation, the church belonged to Lincluden College. Southwick was united to Colvend in 1612, but disjoined again quoad sacra in 1894.

The 1771 church, which stood at NX 86213 54083, was replaced in 1911 by the present church building, some 20m to the N.
