Field Visit (2010)
The water is split into two within the Glenlee tunnel (NX57NE 37.00). The two pipes are then referred to as the penstocks. The water is then conducted down the two pipes and into the turbines within the Power Station (NX68SW 68.00). During construction of the tunnel advanced techniques were used, including a rolling platform during the pouring of the sections and the mixing of the concrete in the tunnel.
