This name applies to the site of the inner gate, leading to the cells inhabited by the monks of St Mary's Priory (NX64NE 3). This priory was surrounded by high walls, and the outer gate, about 1/2 mile distant, was called the Great Cross.
Name Book 1849
A rubbish dump now occupies this site, and the sites of these alleged Gates were not verified.
