The domestic site for Castle Kennedy airfield is situated to the S of the A75(T) road immediately NW of the 'Old Village'.
Buildings, huts and other structures are visible on vertical air photographs (106G/Scot/UK 41, 3312-3313, flown 4 May 1946), in and around the village.
Much of the site is now occupied by new housing in Aird Crescent and Douglas Road.
