Not to be confused with Stranraer or Stranraer Town Station (NX 06665 60382), for which see NX06SE 170.

This station stands on the East (or Railway) Pier at Stranraer Harbour, which extends from NX 06079 61501 to NX c. 06482 60935, and for which see NX06SE 33.01.

It was opened on 12 March 1861 by the Portpatrick Rly (Portpatrick and Wigtownshire Joint Rly), and remains in use by regular passenger traffic, largely in connection with ferries to Larne, Northern Ireland.
