Weir [NAT]

OS 1:10,000 map, 1982.

This weir spans the Whiteadder Water, which here forms the boundary between the parishes of Chirnside (to the N) and Hutton (to the S). It evidently regulated the supply of water to Edington Mill (NT85SE 28.00) along the lade NT85SE 28.01.

The location assigned to this record defines the centre of the structure. The available map evidence suggests that it extends from NT c. 89024 54960 to NT c. 89093 54921.

Information from RCAHMS (RJCM), 8 February 2006.
