Accessing Scotland's Past Project

A round-headed cross was once situated in Hume churchyard, but its location is now unknown. In 1915 the stone was described as being 0.7m in height, with a cross carved on either side.

NT74SW 2.1 700 407.

(Approximately NT 700 407) In the churchyard of Hume is a small round-headed cross measuring in total height 2ft 5ins, diameter of head 1ft, and 7ins in thickness. On the front, in low relief, is carved an equal-limbed cross with the arms expanded at the terminals, and on the back a similar cross, without the expansion of the arms.

182. Cross, Hume.

In the churchyard of Hume is a small round headed cross measuring in total height 2 feet 5 inches, in diameter of head 1 foot, and in thickness 7 inches. On the front, in low relief, is carved an equal-limbed cross with the arms expanded at the extremities, and on the back a similar cross but without the expansion of the arms.
