Accessing Scotland's Past Project

The east lodge of Bughtrig House was built in the first half of the nineteenth century and is a simple Classically-detailed structure, in keeping with other buildings around the estate.

Situated approximately 200m south-east of Bughtrig, the single-storeyed lodge has a corniced base course and eaves course, with a central chimney-stack. Sandstone gate piers to the left of the lodge mark the head of the drive.
