Accessing Scotland's Past Project

The west gate-lodge built to serve Bughtrig House was built in the second half of the twentieth century. It is a simple, Classical design, very similar in style to Bughtrig House itself.

The entrance of the lodge faces north-east, overlooking the head of the drive. There is a fanlight over the door, which has a decorative moulded surround. To either side of the door there are Venetian windows, which comprise a triple arrangement of windows with a higher, arched opening in the centre.
