Accessing Scotland's Past Project

A partially-walled garden, which is situated between Bughtrig House and its stable range probably dates from the late eighteenth or early nineteenth century.

The 1st edition of the Ordnance Survey 6-inch map, published in the 1860s, shows that it was formally laid out with at least two square sections and a number of paths. The map also shows a glasshouse and potting-shed next to the garden, although the glasshouse no longer survives.
