Accessing Scotland's Past Project

A set of architectural drawings of Redden farm, dating from the earlier part of the nineteenth century, contain illustrations of a number of farm buildings, including workers' cottages, a smithy and smithy house. The land on which the farm lies is very fertile, and the drawings indicate its prosperity, with plans for a row of cottages containing nine separate dwellings.

It is not clear if all the buildings on the plan were constructed, although a double cottage, called 'Gateside' certainly was.
