(NT 7123 2606) Cist containing Urn found AD 1885. (NAT)

OS 6"map, Roxburghshire, (1924).

"In the spring of the year, while ploughing a field belonging to the farm of Mosstower, a cist was come upon, which contained human bones." (Information from Mr Laidlaw, The Abbey, Jedburgh).

"Mosstower, near Eckford - Cist with human bones in the spring of 1885, found when ploughing."

G Douglas 1899.

The site of this cist is situated on the S slope of a slight hillock in a grass field. No further information could be found locally.
