Paddock Hall Cottage stands to the south-east of the site once occupied by Spottiswoode House. Built as part of Spottiswoode Home Farm, it originally provided housing for farm workers. All the farm buildings have now been converted into residential buildings.
Paddock Hall is a terraced, symmetrical 1 1/2 storeyed range, probably originally comprising four dwellings which are reflected in the dispersal of the doors, two in the centre and one at each end. The central block has a raised wall-head, and the upper floors are lit by dormer windows.
The cottages are set in a small plot of land. This allowed the occupants to grow food for their own consumption.
