Archaeology Notes

NT63SW 47.01 60818 32267

Caul [NAT]

OS 1:10,000 map, 1992.

This weir spans the River Tweed, which here forms the boundary between the parishes of Mertoun (to the NE) and St Boswells (to the SW). It is apparently associated with the mill NT63SW 47.00.

The location assigned to this record defines the centre of the span. The available map evidence suggests that it extends from NT c. 60749 32279 to NT c. 60855 32259.

Information from RCAHMS (RJCM), 31 January 2006.
