Note (17 June 2013)

On either side of the dining hall (NT57NE 106.05) are the former wards for East Fortune Hospital. Thirteen of these wards to the S of the E-W road through the hospital are buildings which had been adapted from First World War barracks for the military airfield and airship station. The barracks on the N side of the road where demolished prior to World War Two.

A project to characterise the quantity and quality of the Scottish resource of known surviving remains of the First World War. Carried out in partnership between Historic Scotland and RCAHMS.
