Describing features on Borrowston Rig (name: NT 5575 5274), M'Conachie notes "one of those beautifully shaped bronze pots, which have been found in other places around, was unearthed when a sheep fence was being made across the ridge. Two mounded barrows have also been opened and urns found in them, while there are several other elevations scattered over the ground, which may point to the presence of more." (c/f NT55SE 4 and NT55SE 7 ).
W M'Conachie 1913
There are four known cairns on Borrowston Rig, the nearest to an old fence line being NT55SE 7. Of many natural undulations in this area, no suspect earthen mounds were noted during perambulation.
