Road Bridge carrying the main A7 trunk road at an angle over The Waverley Line (RLY 4) in High Buckholmside leading to Bridge Place.
The railway was carried through a short tunnel which has been modified to accommodate road widening since closure in 1969. The modification at the SE end involves the reduction of the 'tunnel ' width by half with concrete revetting erected on the S side. A central brick pillar has also been erected at the SE end. The trackbed is presently occupied by a cycle track ad footpath.
The NW end remains unaltered with a sandstone arch with a string course at road level.

Project (April 2009 - February 2015)
The Borders Railway Project proposals are to reinstate the Newcraighall to Tweedbank section of the former Waverley Line. The reinstated railway line will be approximately 48km long and the majority of the route will use the existing railway embankment.
Several field surveys, archaeological evaluations and standing building surveys were undertaken by CFA Archaeology from April 2009 until February 2015.
