Archaeology Notes

NT41SE 11 469 110 to 488 130.

A collection of artifacts of flint and stone from the farms of Crumhaugh Hill (NT 488 130), Whitchesters (NT 469 110) and Southfield (NT 473 089), were donated to the National Museum of Antiquities of Scotland (NMAS) in 1948-9 by Mrs. I. Turnbull, Haysike, Hawick (NT 475 125).

The collection includes 3 microliths, flakes and implements of quartz and chert, fragments of cannel-coal armlets, and a quartz pebble worn by use as an inset in a wooden plough.
