Stone wall with three openings at front of store set into cliff. The central one is an entrance and the cave is annotated as a SAA store on the WO plan of the Island (RCAHMS MS 879/83). Possibly an earlier fish store.

Project (March 2013 - September 2013)
A project to characterise the quantity and quality of the Scottish resource of known surviving remains of the First World War. Carried out in partnership between Historic Scotland and RCAHMS.
Note (6 November 2013)
Built in to the natural rock face is a building which is described on a late 19th century military map of the island as a 'Test House' and on later plans as a 'SAA' store (small arms store) (The National Archives WO 78/5180) . It comprises a stone wall enclosing a natural cleft or cave to the rear. Access in is gained through a central doorway with a window on each side. It appears on early maps of the military occuption and is probably contemporary with the former drill shed, later Officers Quarters to the SW (see NT28SE 5.26).
