One of nine known blockhouses (what would be known in the Second World War as 'pillboxes') built in the First World War, to defend the fortress of Inchkeith. This example lies on a rocky promontory overlooking the NE approach to the island.

A pentagonal in plan concrete blockhouse situated on a rocky promontory above and S of Kirkcaldy Harbour (NT28SE 14). The building has three loopholes in each wall length with the entranceway and one loophole in the short NW angled wall. The roof is now grass covered.
