(Approx NT 279 726) Two Late Bronze Age, Ewart Park type swords were found in 1846 during the construction of the Queen's Drive, almost directly above Duddingston Loch, just beyond the now apparent western limit of the cultivation terraces noted on NT27SE 77. They were found lying on a bed of vegetable charcoal, but with no remains to indicate a sepulchral deposit, and were donated to the NMAS as Treasure Trove (Acc Nos: DQ 90 and DQ 91).

Found in a bed of charcoal about 100m above the level of Duddingston Loch, during construction of the Queens Drive in 1846.
475. (Ewart Park type: Northern step 2). Sword. Length 66.3cm, terminal width 4.3cm, shoulder width 5.45cm, maximum blade width 4.45cm. Well cast, excellent condition, thin and shiny dark patina. Rivets Sl:4, none in situ. NMAS DQ 91.
483. (Ewart Park type: Northern step 2). Sword. Length 63.05cm, terminal width 4.28cm, shoulder width 5.35cm, maximum blade width 4.5cm. Well cast and in beautiful condition, dark green patina. Rivets 2 (+ 1 bl.) : 2 (+ 2 bl.), none in situ. NMAS DQ 90.
