World War One Audit of Surviving Remains (11 June 2013)

From late in 1914 and during 1915 Granton Harbour was the base for a permanent detachment of military seaplanes. Even after 1915 the harbour was used for occasional seaplane landings, such as delivery flights in transit from the Beardmore factory in Glasgow, to the Dundee, Stannergate seaplane base.

It is unclear where in the harbour the seaplane station was located.

Information from HS/RCAHMS World War One Audit Project (GJB) 11 June 2013.
