Activities

Note (6 February 2015)

During the First World War a large barracks was constructed to the N of Glencourse barracks. This camp comprised over 70 timber huts, with a small firing range and practice trench system.

Three photographs of this camp are held by the National Museum of Scotland (Museum of Flight) in an album of First World War aerial images. The huts appear to have camoflage paint.

The camp appears to have been removed after the end of the war.

Information from RCAHMS (AKK) 6 February 2015.
