A barrage balloon mooring site has been identified from a post-war RAF vertical air photographs (CPE/Scot/UK/256, Part IV, 5414, flown 11 August 1947) in an area of level ground on the N side of Whinny Hill. The site has been destroyed by the construction of the A90 dual carriageway.
