Archaeology Notes

NT18SW 213.03 1108 8191

A barrage balloon mooring site has been identified from post-war RAF vertical air photographs (106G/Scot/UK 10, 7167-8, flown 15 April 1946) at the E end of the dockyard about 100m from the end of Dundas Road. The site was still visible on vertical air photographs taken in 1955, (58/RAF/1712, 30-1, flown 13 April 1955), but may subsequently have been removed in later dockyard developments.

Information from RCAHMS (DE), January 2002
