The Union Canal base of British Waterways is situated just to the E of Bridge 23 (NT07SE 32) and by the side of Drumshoreland Basin (NT07SE 69). The office of the canal ranger is also located at this site.

There are no buildings visible at this site on the 1st edition of the OS 6-inch map (Linlithgowshire 1856, sheet 6), but a canal cottage is marked on the current edition of the OS 1:10000 map (1983) and a depot and canal cottage are marked on the OS 1:10000 raster map (ND). It seems probable that these are the offices recorded by Hamish Brown.
