[This bridge over the Union Canal (built 1818-22, designer Hugh Baird) was situated between the now removed Stewartfield Shale Mines and Albyn Oil Works. [See NS97NW 61.02 for a description of a typical bridge.]

This bridge is in a rather poor state at present, having been abandoned since the closure of the shale works with which it was connected.

This bridge is visible, carrying a path over the canal, on the 1st edition of the OS 6-inch map (Linlithgowshire 1856, sheet 6), on the current edition of the OS 1:10000 map (1983) and on the OS 1:10000 raster map (ND).
