Archaeology Notes

NT07NW 7.01 0034 7653

A Late Bronze Age, Class IV socketed spearhead was found in a modern pit near the SE corner of the church, in 1953 when excavations were being carried out. It may be a stray from an unpublished hoard from Linlithgow. (Doubtless this is the spearhead noted by Coles as from ?Linlithgow Loch). It is in Falkirk Museum.

D M Hunter 1953; J M Coles 1962

From the description this spearhead must have been found at NT 0034 7653.

Visited by OS (BS) 19 March 1974.
