OS 25" map (1964)

The dovecot at Linhouse, which was probably erected soon after the creation of the barony in 1709, is oblong on plan 20' x 11 1/4', rubble walled, with crow-stepped gables and a lean-to roof. There are 2 semi-circular openings, with landing ledges, over the doors. A string-course forms an additional ledge under 12 flight-holes. In the interior are 2 chambers, 768 nest-holes.

H B M'Call 1894; SDD List 1963; RCAHMS 1929, visited 1915

This dovecot is as described. It is not an outstanding example and now forms part of a farm building complex.
