An arrowhead of rhyolitic ash was found in 1899 on Cockleroy (NS 989 743) in the roots of a large upturned tree; it must have been at least 2' below ground level before the tree was uprooted. It measures 3 7/8" x 2 1/4" x 1/2", and is shouldered, not barbed, and tanged. It is an unusual find for Scotland, and its period is uncertain.
The arrowhead was donated to the Hunterian Museum, Glasgow in 1941.
