Two limekilns are depicted on the 1st edition of the OS 6-inch map (Linlithgowshire, 1856, sheet 9) about 300m NE of Ballencrieff Toll and 250m NNW of a second group of kilns (NS97SE 110.01). The depiction of the two kilns would suggest that they are built within a single structure. The two kilns are also shown on the OS 1:10000 scale map (1989) and annotated as 'Lime Kilns (Dis)'.
