Netherlee Road Bridge, built in the 18th century. A two-span rubble bridge over the White Cart, with the road on an incline. The southern arch is narrow and semicircular, the northern wide and segmental. A datestone '1624' was probably reinserted at a reconstruction of the bridge. SDD category B.

Publication Account (2007)

An historic bridge with a 59 ft span segmental arch of squared, coursed sandstone masonry over the White Cart Water. The roadway is on a downwards gradient from west to east and is 10 ft wide between parapet faces. Three iron tie bars through the crown and spandrel walls probably date from the 19th century.

A small flood relief semicircular arch on the downstream face of the east abutment bears the date 1624.

Standing Building Recording (March 2019)

NS 5855 6015 to NS 5547 6077 A watching brief and a historic building recording (HBR) survey were required to mitigate the potential effects of groundworks associated with the White Cart Water Flood Prevention Scheme. The HBR survey consisted of a full photographic record of the Category B listed Snuff Mill Bridge and the retaining walls. The watching brief was carried out in eight separate work sections, in March 2019, and revealed the foundations of two nineteenth century buildings. Carved stone blocks from Pollok Estate, most likely dating to the early twentieth century and two early twentieth century bayonets were also recorded during the watching brief.
