Archaeological Evaluation (15 September 2011 - 21 September 2011)
An archaeological evaluation was required by BAE Systems PLC in respect to the proposed remediation and enabling development of the Bishopton Royal Ordnance Factory. These archaeological works were designed to mitigate the impact or archaeological remains within the area designated LQMA11 of the entire proposed development area. In all 1525 linear meters of trenching were excavated. No significant archaeological remains were located within the development. Those few features which were uncovered related to attempts to improve the area as agricultural land.
