The main adminstrative site includes the Station Hedaquarters and are situated within an area bounded by the main gate and the Technical site (NR62SE 28.03).
Buildings noted within this area the Old Main Guradroom, Combined Mess, Gymnasium Junior Ranks club, NAAFI shop, ther MacDonald Block, Kilkenzie House, Station HQ with accomodation, Old Station HQ, Chapel and several other brick huts.
Within the L-shped in plan Station Hedaquarters are several wooden plaques referring to the airfield history along with squadron badges and memorabilia. The building is built mainly of brick with a tiled roof.
The Gymnasium/Cinema/Theatre may be of immediate post-1945 construction, but is built to a wartime design. It is at present not in use. There are several other buildings within the area which are of the late 1940's period, but built to wartime designs. The large 1960-1970's single storey Combined Mess for both Officers and other ranks has three large rooms with what may have been a chapel at the SE end. The chapel is a small brick built building now out of use, retaining a information board on the NW gable.
One bunker was visited, the Protected Communications site situated on the N perimeter immediately inside the fence. The bunker retains some equipment including a telrinter and switchboard. Other buildings include a bowling alley and racket ball court.
