Watching Brief (16 November 2016 - 20 November 2016)
NO 6393 4722 A watching brief was undertaken, 16–20 November 2016, by Pete Higgins of Archaeology North on behalf of HAS during groundworks for a solar park. Seven land drains were found, scattered in the central part of the field where the depth of topsoil was greatest. Pottery was noted fairly frequently in the topsoil, mostly refined earthenware with a few porcelain and one redware sherd was recorded.
