The main group of hangars to the NW (NO53NE 59.03) of the demolished control tower (NO53NE 59.08), consisted of ten 'Mainhill' or 'S' type Naval aircraft sheds set within earth blast banks with a further two 'T' or Bellman types. In addition, there are at least 24 huts, inlcuding some Nissen types, spread amongst the hangars.
All the hangars have been removed since the 1950s and no trace can be seen on the ground or on later air photographs (All Scotland Survey [Jasair], 51788 207-208, flown 18 and 24 June 1988) of any of the structures, though the outline of the area survives as a narrow oval shaped concrete track.
