Archaeology Notes

NO44SE 46.05 4852 4117

A type 27 pillbox has been identified from vertical air photogrpahs taken in 1947 (CPE/Scot/UK 304, 3079-3080, flown 26 September 2005), at the SE corner of the enclosure surrounding the four mast bases and transmitter/receiver block.

The pillbox would appear to have been removed as it is not depicted on the current OS 1:2500 scale digital map.

Information from RCAHMS (DE), October 2005
