(NO 4596 4395) Inverarity Church (NR) and Graveyard (NAT) (Site of)

OS 6" map, Forfarshire, 2nd ed., (1926)

Inverarity Church, which was dedicated by Bishop David in 1243, was formerly situated near Fotheringham House. By 1859, all traces of the church had disappeared, its site and that of the graveyard being planted with trees and shrubs.

The church was moved to its present site (at NO 4529 4434) in 1754. (See also NO44SE 10)
