Field Visit (24 August 2011)

This milestone stands on the SE verge of the St Andrews to Largo public road (A915) at Brewsterwells. It is a dressed sandstone pillar, 0.35m square and 0.87m high, with an information cap that indicates the distances in miles to St Andrews (5) on its W face and Largo Pier (7) and Colinsburgh (5) on its N face. The stone is painted white with the information on the cap highlighted in black.
