There is a 17th century dovecot at Lochmalony. It is square on plan, measuring 15ft 1in by 15ft 2 1/2ins, built of harled rubble, and has crow-stepped gables.

RCAHMS 1933, visited 1927.

This is the usual 17/18th century type of dovecot, and remains in fair condition, except that the roof is falling in.

Visited by OS (R D) 11 June 1970.

Site Management (12 November 2007)

Single chamber lean-to 15' x 1" x 15' 2-1/2", rubble-built with stepped rat course and corwstepped flanks, formerly harled. Now roofless (formerly slated) boxes entire (Historic Scotland)
